Basement Bakehouse is an independent microbakery built on craft, quality, and a no-nonsense approach to good bread. We believe in making honest, handmade food with proper ingredients—sourdough with depth, bakes with precision, and everything made with care.



OUR BAKERS:
LIAM & ANDREA
- Co-Directors of Basement Bakehouse -
Liam and Andrea have been friends for years. They first met in 2014 in the Gravesend theatre scene, but their paths took them in different directions: Andrea to the U.S., where she built a nursing career in community health, and Liam into the food and drink industry, quietly plotting a future in baking.
Fast forward to 2024, and things came full circle. Andrea returned to the UK, and with Liam already deep into renovating a bakery kitchen in the home he shares with his partner, Ben, the timing was spot on. What started as a home-based bakery quickly became a shared vision, and soon after, they became co-directors of Basement Bakehouse Ltd.

We’re always evolving—our specials menu shifts with the seasons, making the most of what’s fresh and at its best. Expect an ever-changing lineup of breads and bakes, from fruit-laden buns in the summer to spiced, hearty flavours in the colder months.
